LEECH LAKE
Before the rains leech lake was doing very well for large triploid trout and Brookies using chironimids.
COWLITZ RIVER
Currently river level is low at 3600 cfs.
There are summer steelies and coho present.
Good time to be capataliziing on the chinooko eggs being dropped into river using glo bugs and other egg patterns below an indicator.
Small Intruders and standard steelhead fly patterns will all work. Best colors are Black, Black and Blue, Black and Purple, Fuschia(Hot Fl Pink)
KALAMA RIVER
Silver and summer steelies present.
SOUTH FORK TOUTLE
River level should be high after rains but will drop into shape quickly. Fresh fish will be present
HOODS PORT/PUGET SOUND
Good for chum which will be prolific depending on the day and tides.
Simple fishery. Use floating fly line and long tapered mono leader . The fish tend to be very shallow and congregated.
THE DESCHUTES RIVER
This river should have a large number of up river steelies hanging in the lower river travelling to the Clearwater.
THE JOHN DAY
Now is the time to take advantage of the steelies in the area around Cottonwood bridge.
This fishery can be prolific. Longer trip but well worth the time spent. Checkout the cottonwood camp ground which is awesome.
